My Story

will be where I share my health history. Ultimately, when you click on the button, I want it to open to a “short story” which will be several paragraphs, and then at the bottom after the text, I want there to be a button with the option to “click here to read my longer story.” (The longer story will take some time, and maybe by then I’ll have a video of myself sharing my story.)

“I’ve been through a lot on my quest for health. I was raised as a “sick kid” in the conventional medical world since I was a young child. I grew up in research hospitals and doctor clinics, and was dragged to world-renowned specialists all over the country, each of whom made sure I knew that I would never live a normal life. I was officially diagnosed with over a dozen autoimmune conditions as a kid, with more as I got older. I have been written about in several medical textbooks because my conditions were so rare and complex, which both intrigued yet baffled doctors. And as you can probably imagine, the traditional medical management approach utterly ravaged my state of health from the very beginning. Because of this, I have been researching how to heal myself for over 20 years now, and over the last 10 years, have totally dedicated my life to doing anything it takes to get better, which eventually led me to the RCP.
Now, as a Root Cause Protocol Mineral Balancing Practitioner, a Moderator in the ever-growing Magnesium Advocacy Group on Facebook, an RCP Institute Tutor, and RCP staff member, I am able to combine my lifetime of what I’ve learned with the principles of the RCP to offer a unique perspective that no one else can. Although I am very much still on my healing journey, Morley’s research has helped me make sense of my lifetime of pain, suffering, and struggle. Now, I am able to use it to my advantage to help so many others who are struggling to feel better. My curse, has now become my gift.

Throughout all of my medical perplexities, working with animals has always been my primary focus since I was 3 years old. I pursued a Zoology degree in college, with Master’s work in animal physiology, and have never had a non-animal job. I’ve worked as a wildlife biologist, a naturalist, an exotic animal nurse, a wildlife rehabilitator, and a holistic veterinary nurse and nutritionist, to name a few. Even while my personal life was consumed with learning as much as I could about human health, the emphasis of my professional career has always been on animal health. And, having worked in veterinary clinics for over a decade, I grew tired of being forced to implement doctors’ orders, using the same approach which completely devastated my own health, and seeing so many animals suffer as a result. I knew there was more I could do to help them. So six years ago, I left my integrative veterinary practice to start up my own private animal health and nutrition business. And I have since expanded my pet-centered business to include working with people, too. It feels like I’ve finally found my purpose.

Undoubtedly, my health issues have always been among the most complicated and most severe. But, with pain, there is growth. Although it has taken me an entire lifetime of being sick and miserable to get to where I am today, I am thankful for my hardships, as I now finally understand the “why” and “how” behind chronic illness and disease, and can use this knowledge to help so many others who are struggling to feel better. These painful hardships have taught me invaluable lessons which only add to my knowledge and experience, and help me be a more compassionate and understanding teacher. It’s these grueling and challenging life lessons which have made me uniquely equipped to help anyone, with whatever health ailments they have, and especially others with complex issues, because I’ve experienced it all myself. What works for most, usually didn’t work for me, so I’ve been forced to dig extra deep, think outside the box, and be the best health detective possible. I’m confident that anyone, especially those with difficult health concerns, will benefit from my perspective.”
